The Archive and Library Team is responsible for curating and making available the records of the National Monuments Record of Wales. This includes our large public archive of photographs, drawings and documents relating to the archaeology, architecture and industry of Wales and a related library of specialist books and journals. The team includes the public enquiries service, which responds to a wide variety of remote requests for information and mans our public search room. In addition, the team’s specialist archive staff deals with the cataloguing, indexing and archival storage of the NMRW’s record collections, which can be searched through our online access system Coflein. We also have a professional digitisation unit responsible for the scanning of original archive records for the purposes of access and conservation.
