What's New under the Uplands Archaeology Initiative

This year (2010-11) reconnaissance survey projects are being grant-aided under the Uplands Archaeology Initiative in the following areas:

Carnedd Moel-Siabod (Snowdonia) (25km2) by North Pennine Archaeology

Llyn Celyn-Arenig Fawr (Snowdonia) (32) by Hayman & Horton

Penllyn (E) (Snowdonia) (19) by Hayman & Horton

Radnorshire Small Commons (30) by Trysor

Mid-Glamorgan Uplands: Dyffryn-Lewiston (16) by Trysor

Planning for next year’s (2011-12) programme is already under way. It has been brought forward so that air photo mapping of selected areas will be in place for the start of survey in April 2011 and to ensure completion of surveys and reporting by March 2012.

Readers of these pages who would like to participate in the field programme should contact David Leighton at david.leighton@rcahmw.gov.uk. by the end of July 2010.
